The Yalta International Economic Forum In Ufa Discussed Overcoming Sanctions Barriers
The panel discussion ‘Overcoming Sanction Barriers: Development of Global Trade’ was held in Ufa as part of the Yalta International Economic Forum. The round table was organised by the YIEF Foundation, and moderated by Anna Kochneva, a presenter at Infoshtab media holding.
The discussion was attended by Ivan Sukharev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Property, Land and Property Relations, Georgy Muradov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea - Permanent Representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of Russia, political scientists and experts from Slovakia, Iran, India, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh and Portugal.

Ivan Sukharev was the first to address the session.

Our president emphasised that the West wanted to defeat us, including in the economic direction,’ Mr. Sukharev said. - But the sanctions did not work, and this is the merit of the government, the State Duma and the Federation Council. There is also the merit of our Committee, whose activities are aimed at overcoming the consequences of anti-Russian sanctions, sovereignty of the Russian economy and state support for the development of industry. We are also not forgetting the combatants who ensure the sovereignty of our country. They give us the opportunity to hold such events here, under peaceful skies.

Georgi Muradov continued the topic of overcoming sanctions barriers.
The people of Crimea wholeheartedly welcome you here in Bashkortostan,’ the Chairman of the Crimean Cabinet of Ministers addressed the guests. - I send greetings from the government of the Republic of Crimea, from the Head of the Republic, and we are glad that we have the opportunity to share with you the most urgent thoughts, how our countries are developing, how Russia, the Russian Crimea is developing, and what we will do to create a new world order that meets the interests of our peoples and states.

According to the speaker, the West will try to maintain its global dominance by preventing the strengthening of the structures of the new world order.

This line of the West will be supplemented by fuelling conflicts around our countries and the entire space around the BRICS countries, the SCO, the EEC and other associations, which are the nuclei of the emerging new just world order,’ Muradov noted. - Therefore, the importance of these associations is growing today. The West's vector is aimed at destroying all components of world trade and world economic relations. And the main vector of our work is consolidated opposition to these criminals, I emphasise, criminal secondary sanctions. Why criminal? Not only are they not legitimate, but they are imposed on third States by force.

Among the proposed countermeasures, the speaker put forward the idea of creating a new financial platform that would be able to do without settlements in ‘toxic currencies’, he also suggested using a system of clearing settlements.

We need to take a principled decision, unite together and say our weighty word,’ he summarised.

Foreign participants of the round table agreed with this idea.

In order to cope with the obstacles created by sanctions, countries under sanctions must rely on a combined set of economic, diplomatic, social and technological solutions,’ said Amir Hojasteh, head of the parliamentary anti-corruption faction and head of the country's internal affairs commission in Iran's parliament. - The opportunities we have today are what we have achieved through sanctions. Our countries need closer consolidation to avoid the consequences of these sanctions. By creating a new multipolar world, by getting rid of American dominance, we can stand up to it.
