Sergey Tsekov, a member of the Council of the Federation Committee on International Affairs, invited representatives of Egyptian business circles to the fifth Yalta International Economic Forum, which will be held in Crimea from April 17 to 20.
During the meeting in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federation Council with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Russian Federation Ihab Nasr Sergei Tsekov invited the Egyptians to come to Crimea and see for themselves how the peninsula lives and also participate in joint humanitarian and economic projects.
In his speech, Tsekov focused on the modern history of Russia, where the fifth anniversary of the “Crimean Spring” is celebrated these days. The senator said that throughout all the years of being a part of Ukraine, Crimeans dreamed of returning to their homeland in Russia. This, in particular, was convincingly shown by the results of numerous sociological polls. Residents of the peninsula considered it unfair to leave Crimea as part of Ukraine after the collapse of the Soviet Union and in 2014 they implemented their political dream in a referendum.
As was emphasized at the meeting, Egypt is not only a popular holiday destination for Russian tourists, but also a friendly state for the implementation of joint mutually beneficial projects of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation.
